Terms of Use

The rules for using 2050planet. Read them once. We've kept them as short as the law allows.

1. Agreement

By using 2050planet.com (the “Platform”) or chatting with TERRA you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that can't be resolved by reasonable conversation is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai courts.

2. Who can use 2050planet

Anyone of any age can read the Platform. We built it for ages 2 to 95. The Generation 2050 sections are intentionally designed for young readers.

To create an account (Google sign-in) you must be at least 16 years old. If you are younger and have a parent or guardian who wants to create an account on your behalf, they can do so under their own name and supervise your use.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will close it.

3. What 2050planet is — and isn't

2050planet is an educational and informational platform about climate, sustainability, the 15 Global Challenges, the Critical Six resources, and the future being built toward 2050.

TERRA is an AI engine that helps you explore these topics conversationally. TERRA is not a professional advisor. What TERRA tells you is general information, not:

  • Legal advice — see a qualified lawyer for your jurisdiction
  • Medical advice — see a licensed clinician
  • Financial or investment advice — see a regulated financial advisor
  • Engineering, architectural, or other licensed professional advice

AI systems can be confidently wrong. Always verify important facts from authoritative sources before making decisions that matter.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform to break any law in your jurisdiction or ours
  • Try to extract, reverse-engineer, or disclose TERRA's underlying model, system prompts, or infrastructure
  • Use TERRA's output to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any other AI model or system
  • Send TERRA prompts intended to generate hate speech, violent extremism, child sexualisation, weapons-of-mass-destruction guidance, malware, or content that endangers minors
  • Bypass or attempt to bypass the rate limits, free-tier limits, or any other access controls
  • Scrape the site at a rate that interferes with other users' access
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts, headless browsers) against the Platform without our written permission
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit access to TERRA or our content without a written licence
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation
  • Upload malware, run denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise attempt to compromise the Platform's security

We may suspend or terminate access for violations. Repeat or serious violations may also be reported to law enforcement.

5. Free to use

2050planet is free to use. We don't sell ads, we don't sell data, and we don't plan to monetise individual users (locked design decision: the Platform exists for impact, not revenue).

We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers in future for advanced features (e.g., institutional dashboards, government deployments, or higher TERRA usage limits). Any change will be announced before it takes effect, and existing free functionality won't be removed.

6. Intellectual property

6.1 Our content

All written articles, illustrations, the TERRA brand, the design system, and the underlying code of 2050planet are © 2026 Khurram Badar / 2050planet. You may:

  • Read and share links to our pages freely
  • Quote short excerpts (a paragraph or two) for educational, journalistic, or research purposes with attribution
  • Print articles for personal, classroom, or non-commercial use

You may not, without our written permission:

  • Republish whole articles on another site
  • Bundle our content into a paid product
  • Use the 2050planet or TERRA names, logos, or look-and-feel for your own offering

6.2 TERRA output

Conversational responses generated by TERRA are provided to you for your personal, educational, or informational use. You may share TERRA's answers in conversation, in writing, or in your own work, with attribution to “TERRA on 2050planet.com” where the audience benefits from knowing the source.

You may not use TERRA's output to train, evaluate, fine-tune, or benchmark any other AI model or system, or to build a competing AI service.

6.3 Your contributions

We don't currently accept user-submitted content. If we add comments, submissions, or community features in the future, these Terms will be updated to cover what rights you grant us in your contributions.

7. Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy. Short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

8. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time. Material changes affecting registered accounts will be announced in advance where reasonable.

9. Third-party links and services

We link to third-party sites (research papers, government sources, partner platforms). We're not responsible for content or practices of those sites. When you sign in with Google, Google's terms and privacy policy also apply to that interaction.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, the Platform and TERRA are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

TERRA is a generative AI system. Its outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation. You use TERRA's output at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, neither 2050planet nor its operators will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform is capped at AED 500.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold 2050planet harmless from any claim arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Platform at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email privacy@2050planet.com.

We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continuing to provide service to you exposes us or other users to legal risk. We'll give notice where reasonable.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai courts. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
